Debrief 2019 was a showcase of work by graduates from all disciplines of the Otago Polytechnic School of Design, featuring hand-made garments and accessories, product design, print media and publications, graphic design, photography, web and film projects. Running from the 21st - 24th November, Debrief was hosted alongside a student film screening, the Collections Graduate Fashion Show and Pop-up Shop.

Otago Polytechnic's third year students from the Communication, Fashion and Product disciplines all came together to design and implement the exhibition. This involved branding and marketing, way finding, print publication, event management, budgeting and construction of the displays.

My group was tasked with designing a way to showcase Communication Design student's film and photography outcomes from 2019. We designed, constructed and installed a cylindrical structure within the exhibition space, where film and photography was showcased. Visitors were required to duck under the edge and enter the cylinder, which acted as a miniature exhibition space transporting the viewer away from the larger exhibition and into a more intimate environment.

Alongside the cylinder we created a screening room; this blacked out space provided visitors with a moment of peace, where the best of the 2019 Communication Design film outcomes could be viewed in comfort.
