Founded by Francis Meenan in 1865, Meenan and Co is the city's oldest liquor store. In 1974, the store was relocated to its current home at 750 Great King Street in North Dunedin. The torch was then passed to new owner Chris Hart of Dunedin company SAMGAN Ltd in December 2018, the site now trading as Meenans by Liquorland.
Alongside the stores renovations and restructure, I was contracted to redesign the 'Meenan and Company' existing logo to reflect the businesses change of ownership and the beginning of a new chapter in the stores rich history. By blending the existing logo with Liquorland's brand identity and guidelines, I have created a new brand mark for Meenans by Liquorland that pays homage to the past while looking towards the future.
